In 2021, Zutari constructed a solar power station in Malawi. Despite challenges such as poor roads, lack of access to the sea, and difficult terrain, the company completed a station with a capacity of 28.5 MW and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which will partly help address electricity issues in one of the world's poorest countries.
The company was also invited to provide solutions for the modernization of the Bethlehem Hydro Project (BHP) in the Free State province of South Africa. Subsequently, Zutari was appointed to handle the detailed design and project management of two hydroelectric power stations - Merino and Sol Plaatje. One of the main benefits includes obtaining carbon credits under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in South Africa.
